Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Bhutan on 14th-16 April 2016.
The much loved royal couple prince William and Kate Middleton were received in a traditional Chipdrel ceremony (A ceremony reserved for Royalty), audience by Their Majesties, The King and Queen of Bhutan in Tashichodzong in the afternoon of 14th April.
On the royal couple's visit to the kingdom, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tried their hand at archery (Bhutan's national sport) in the Changlimithang National stadium, the Match was hosted by HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuc. The Royal couple also met pupils from Draktsho School and Ability Bhutan. In the evening they were entertained to a private Dinner at Linkana Palace by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Bhutan.
On 15th April, William and Kate trekked to the spectacular Tiger's Nest monastery, which stands on a Cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley in the remote mountain Kingdom and in the evening attended a Reception hosted by the British Honorary Consul (Mr. Michael Rutland OBE) at the Taj Tashi Hotel. Invited guests included members of the British community in Bhutan and members of the Bhutan United Kingdom Alumni Association.
